My interest in the First World War started over 25 years ago, when I was told the stories of my grandfather’s involvement in the trenches. Since those days, I have been able to follow the path not only of my grandfather, but countless others who fought in both World Wars in North Western Europe through my many visits to the battlefields. I believe these personal stories make the wider context of the conflict accessible for many people and they form an important part of my tours to the battlefields. I also conduct research for people wanting to find out more about the role of their relatives in the Great War. I have given talks to local history groups on their war memorials and the stories of the many men commemorated. I work in conjunction with BackRoads Touring Co Ltd, a well established London based tour company who operate a fleet of 16 seater Mercedes mini-coaches and people carriers. I have a PCV driving licence enabling me to take groups of up to 16 people. If you want to form a group of like minded travellers (I recommend a minimum of ten) I can arrange the use of an appropriately sized vehicle. |

Alternatively, I can travel with you, if you are taking your own vehicle or arrange your transport. Whether you are an individual, a couple, or arranging something for a small group and are interested in visiting the battlefields, then please contact me by phone or email so that we can discuss your individual needs. |
